The Tyro Mark 2 is a very rugged ultralight aircraft that is
easy to handle and has very stable flight characteristics making
it a joy to experience at a cost to suit yourself.
The result of four years or research and development the Tyro
first flew in 1981. The aircraft is a high wing single strut
braced monoplane built from aluminium. The wing is covered with
dacron and doped. Average build time is about 160 hours.
The Tyro can be fitted with a range of engines from the Rotax
277 up to the Rotax 503 or the Volkswagon 1600cc.
After construction the aircraft can be assembled or disassembled
in 7 minutes and transported on a light trailer.
What's a Components Kit?
From the novice to the most experienced builder the most
frustrating part of building an aircraft is to obtain all the
various components. Geoff Eastwood has solved that for you in
the Tyro Mk 2 KIT. All materials required to build the TYRO are
supplied*, with component parts like Wing ribs, Seat, Pod,
Wheels, Fuel Tank, Control Stick, Cables, Fabric, Nuts, Bolts,
Rivets etc., etc., supplied. Other parts only require minor
finishing and drilling before assembly.
